Abstract: Optical absorption, luminescence, and excitation spectra of Cr3+ ions in a BeAl6O10 crystal are reported. Stimulated emission has been achieved on an electronic-vibrational transition of Cr3+ ions (4T24A2) in the interval 0.78–0.92 μm with flashlamp pumping.
