Frequency multiplication in nonlinear lithium iodate crystals

Abstract:
The results are reported of an experimental investigation of the frequency multiplication in nonlinear lithium iodate crystals. The advantages and disadvantages of lithium iodate are compared with the properties of other nonlinear crystals. The optimal second-harmonic generation conditions are obtained when a crystal is placed in a laser resonator. The energy characteristics of the second and third optical harmonics are given.
