Quasi-cw collisional stimulated emission from a tin vapor laser

Abstract: Lasing due to the forbidden 1D23P2 (λ = 1.9244 μ) transition in the tin atom is reported for the first time. A tube 5 mm in diameter and 50 cm long was used, the output power was 8 mW, and the gain was less than 1%.
