Wavefront reversal of microsecond radiation in fiber waveguides
V. A. Serebryakov, A. A. Chertkov
Abstract:
A study was made of wavefront reversal of radiation of microsecond pulses by stimulated Brillouin scattering in thick quartz fiber waveguides. The maximum length of the fiber was limited to several meters because of depolarization of the radiation and because of the frequency shift between the incident and reflected waves. A WFR quality of 0.6 was obtained in a fiber waveguide 6-m long, which ensured that the dynamic range of the working energies of the reversed radiation was of the order of 10 for a pulse duration of 2 μsec.
