Scattering of particles with allowance for an interaction with a quantized scalar field

Abstract: A system of two particles and a quantized scalar field is considered. The interaction consists of a potential part and an essentially quantum part (linear in the field). The influence of quantum interaction effects on the scattering of particles is examined and processes with the creation of field quanta are studied. In the case of a nonweak coupling of the particles to the field, the present model leads naturally to a structure of the particles with properties determined by the nature of the interaction of the particles with one another. An important role in the treatment is played by the particle form factor, which occurs in the characteristics of elastic scattering and determines the scattering amplitude with the emission of field quanta. Allowance is made for recoil when field quanta are emitted. Possible generalizations of the model are discussed.
