Abstract: Nonperturbative effects in the $N=1$ supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory are studied using the relation between perturbative and exact anomalies. In the general case, a superpotential is generated by instantons and must contain the gluino condensate. The exact expression for the superpotential is obtained.
