Abstract: A mathematical model of spreading of a liquid drop of metallic melt on the surface of a solid in a magnetic field is investigated. Regularities of spreading of a conducting drop are determined with due regard for the viscous, ponderomotive, gravitational, and surface forces. A computing experiment is performed, which makes it possible to estimate the effect of the above-mentioned forces on the physical process being investigated.
