Biography

K.B. Sabitov graduated from Sterlitamak State Pedagogical Institute (SSPI) in 1973. In 1974-1979 he was an intern-researcher, post-graduate student of the department of mathematical analysis of the Kuibyshev State Pedagogical Institute. In 1980 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate by specialty 01.01.02 — differential equations and mathematical physics. In 1981-1986 he was a head of the Department of Mathematical analysis of SSPI, in 1988–1991 — doctoral student of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Moscow State University n.a. M.V. Lomonosov in the scientific direction "Mathematical modeling and processing of space information". After graduating from the doctoral program in 1992, he defended his thesis for the doctoral degree. In 1992 - 2008 he was a Professor of Mathematical analysis of SSPI.

In 1992—2007, K.B. Sabitov was a Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of SSPI; he opened new university specialties: applied mathematics and computer science, software and administration of information systems; physics with specialization chemical physics and fiber-optic communication; opened and created 5 new departments.

Since 1995, he is a member of the Department of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan (AS RB), director-organizer, and since 1996 the director of the Sterlitamak branch of the AS RB; since 2009 — director of the Institute of Applied Research of the AS RB; in 2006 he was elected as Corresponding Member of AN RB. K.B. Sabitov is an author of about 250 scientific articles.

The main publications are devoted to mathematical problems of subsonic and transonic gas dynamics, boundary value problems for differential equations of mixed type, the study of their qualitative and spectral properties of solutions, the most important of them are:

Awards: Excellence in Education of the RB (1996), Honored Scientist of the RB (1999), Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2001), Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (2014).

The main scientific results of K.B. Sabitov:
— the effect of the influence of the hyperbolic part of the equations of the mixed type on the correctness of the Tricomi problem was established for the first time; to prove the existence of a generalized solution of the Tricomi problem for general equations and some systems of mixed-type equations, an alternating Schwarz-type method has been developed;
— developing the Moravec auxiliary function method, the new uniqueness theorems were obtained for solving the Frankl problem and the generalized Tricomi problem for important classes of mixed-type equations that simulate transonic flows;
— the problems of the uniqueness of the solution of the Frankl problem and the generalized Tricomi problem were finally solved in the L.V. Ovsyannikov and the Tricomi problem for the Chaplygin equation, for which these problems were posed in the theory of a Laval nozzle;
— the eigenvalues ​​and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the spectral problems for the Lavrentev–Bitsadze, Chaplygin operators were found, the constructed system of eigenfunctions was studied for completeness and its applications for solving boundary value problems were shown;
— the extremal properties of solutions of difference analogues of systems of equations of mixed type are established and on their basis the theorems on the unique solvability of difference problems are obtained; — set the criteria for uniqueness and sufficient conditions for the solvability of local (Dirichlet, Neumann problems) and non-local boundary value problems;
— for the first time, inverse problems for equations of mixed type of the second order and boundary problems for equations of mixed type of the third order were posed and conditions for their unique solvability in a rectangular region were established.

Over the past 15 years, he was one of the organizers of more than 20 scientific conferences of various levels, following the results of which collections of scientific papers were published. He is the head of the scientific grants of the Republic of Bashkortostan (1996–2014), the Education Ministry of the Russian Federation on basic research in the field of mathematics (1998–2000), RFBR projects (1999–2001, 2008–2009, 2011–2012 2014-2016.)
