Doctor of Sciense (of 1974, Leningrad State University) in Physics and Matematics (Thesis tetle: "Application of orthogonal transformations to solving problems of algebra"). 1984, hedersdoktorer of the Umea University. Academic Positions. 1948–1955 junior researcher, Leningrad Branch of Steclov Mathematical Institute. 1956–1986 senior researcher, Leningrad Branch of Steclov Mathematical Institute. 1986–up to now leading researcher, St. Petersburg Branch of Steclov Mathematical Institute. 1976–1994 Professor, St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University. Has more than 120 scientific publications.

In 1985 I was awarded an honorary doctorate at the Universitet of Umea, Sweden. I is one of editor of mathematicul journal "Zap. nauchn. seminar. POMI" (section numerical methods).
