Biography

Yu.N. Radaev is an expert in mathematical theory of plastic metals flow, mathematical modelling of damage accumulation and failure processes of solids under creep and corrosive attack of external environment conditions, thermomechanics of solid deformable bodies. He has over 300 scientific articles in leading Russian and foreign journals in different areas of mechanics, mathematical physics and mathematical modelling.

Yu.N. Radaev graduated from Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Samara State University in 1984. Then, in 1986-1989 he was a post-graduate student in the Institute for Problems in Mechanics of Academy of Sciences of the USSR and in 1989 he defended a thesis in 01.02.04 specialty Mechanics of Solids in the dissertation committee in IPM of AS USSR. In 2000 he defended the doctoral thesis Continuous models of solid bodies damage in the same specialty and committee. In 2005 Yu.N. Radaev became a professor.

From 1989 till 2010 Yu.N. Radaev worked in Samara State University first as teaching assistant of Mechanics of Solids Department (1989-1993), and then as senior teacher (19931995), assistant professor (19952000), full professor (from 2000) and head of Mechanics of Solids Department (2002-2010). From 2010 he is a leading research scientist in the Laboratory of Modelling in Mechanics of Solids of Institute for Problems in Mechanics n.a. A.Yu. Ishlinskii of Russian Academy of Sciences.

The projects under the scientific supervision of Yu.N. Radaev are supported by the International Science Foundation, Russian Foundation of Basic Research, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Yu.N. Radaev has scientific contacts with the leading scientific centers in Russia, Europe and Japan. In 1993-1995 he has a scientific internship in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Nagoya University, Nagoya, JAPAN, which was finansed by Ministry of science and Culture of Japan. In 1999-2000 he made a scientific research in Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Universite Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), Paris, France under the support of CNRS.

Yu.N. Radaev is a member of academic council of Problems of Mechanics of Solids of Russian Academy of Sciences, a member of Russian National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, a member of editorial boards of some scientific journals, including Journal of Samara State Technical University, Ser. Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Izvestiya of Saratov University. New Series. Series Mathematics. Mechanics. Informatics, editor-in-chief of the Journal Mechanics of Limit State.
