Biography

A.I. Khromov made a major contribution to the development of the theory of plasticity with large plastic deformations. The main focus of his research is the theory of deformation and destruction of rigid-plastic bodies, taking into account changes in their geometry. The proposed approach made it possible to reduce the solution of a certain class of technological problems of the theory of plasticity to the integration of systems of ordinary differential equations with deviating argument. A number of exact solutions were obtained for the problems of introducing flat, wedge-shaped and curvilinear stamps into bodies of arbitrary shape, problems of deforming bodies of complex shape with surface and internal cracks.
