Abstract:
Uduality appears as a group of hidden symmetries in toroidal
reduction of 11dimensional supergravity. While the pform fields
transform as linear representations under the duality transformations,
the scalar fields live in a coset and transform nonlinearly.
The Exceptional Field Theory is based on the structures of Extended
Geometry defined on the socalled extended space. This framework
considers Uduality transformations as a local gauge symmetry of the
extended space.
In this talk we will see, that both 11dimensional supergravity and
Type IIb supergravity can be obtained by choosing a solution of the
section condition, a constraint that projects the extended space to
the conventional spacetime.
