Control in Biological Systems and Medicine

Sliding modes of systems for control of cell populations

B. G. Zaslavski

Leningrad
Abstract: Mathematical models of a variable structure system are developed that are used for control of continuous growth of single-cell organisms. Conditions for the existence of sliding modes in such systems are found. Stability «in the large» of a stationary solution in sliding mode is studied. The system stability can be increased by introduction of sliding operating mode and stationary conditions are found to be insensitive to disturbances of system parameters.
