Certain Mathematical Problems Connected with Morphogenesis
A. M. Leontovitch, I. I. Pyatetsky-Shapiro, O. N. Stavskaya Moscow
Abstract:
There have been considered geometrical patterns of morphogenetic movements without touching upon the physical-chemical nature of the forces which induce these movements. The rules of the movement of cells in our models depend only on the position of a small number of their neighbouring cells. There have been investigated patterns of the movements of a line consisting of cells on a plane. There has been chosen the simplest problem, that of linearization. The article presents the results of modelling on a computer which show that our rules ensure the solution of the problem of linearization.
