Approximate calculation of the attenuation of shock waves produced by detonation of charges of small thickness and the velocities of plate acceleration by explosion products

Abstract:
A scheme for calculating the attenuation of shock waves in a medium adjacent to a detonating charge of small thickness and the velocity of plate acceleration by the explosion products of the charge of small thickness is proposed using a wave approach. Approximate analytical solutions are given which are useful for obtaining qualitative estimates, identifying the main factors determining the process, and developing programs for more complex flows. The calculation results are compared with experimental data for samples and plates made of materials of various densities and compressibilities.
