Propagation of the chain explosive-decomposition reaction in silver azide crystals

Abstract:
The velocity of the chain explosive-decomposition reaction in silver azide whiskes has been measured ($\approx$ 1500 m/sec). The measured velocity is identified as the propagation velocity of the diffusion front of holes generated in the course of explosive decomposition.
