Characteristics of the development of accelerated transition of combustion to detonation in charges with nondestructible casings

Abstract: The characteristics of the development of detonation in PETN powder charges with a nondestructible casing were investigated experimentally. It was found that the initial process stages are stabilized by a pressure drop during the deformation of the internal acrylic plastic casing in charges with a combination casing and a stress relief through the luminosity visualization opening in the steel casing. A prediction is provided concerning the nature of the process development.
