Abstract:
Manganin gages were used to measure shock compressibility and sound speed in KAST-V brand glass textolite [fiberglass laminate] at pressures up to 22 GPa. A Doppler laser interferometer was used to measure the free-surface velocity profile of specimens at a pressure of $\sim$ 1 GPa. The viscosity and the spall strength of the material were estimated.
