Combustion of model low-gas systems

Abstract: The combustion of model compositions characterized by gas liberation in the heating zone is investigated experimentally. The investigated objects are ferrozirconium and chromoaluminum thermites with a molybdenum trioxide additive. The influence of the quantity of liberated additive gas, the degree of compaction of the compositions, and the diameter of the burning sample on the main combustion characteristics is studied. The characteristics of the combustion process are analyzed according to the principles of the conduction-filtration heat-transfer mechanism.
