Abstract:
The dependences of magnetic properties of multiferroics obtained upon isovalent substitution of bismuth cations in the BiFeO$_3$ sample by rare-earth metal cations have been investigated experimentally. The crystal-chemical characteristics and indices of global instability of the samples have been calculated in the approximation of the valence bond method using the SPuDS program. Correlations of the structure and magnetic properties depending on the chemical composition of multiferroics have been established based on the analysis of experimental and theoretical data.
