Abstract:
The thermal neutron diffraction method is used to investigate two independent effects forming the local instability of the sphalerite crystal structure in semiconductor Zn-chalcogen crystals lightly doped with 3$d$ elements, namely, perturbations induced by dopant ions in the initial lattice and the tendency to the formation of polytypes that are characteristic of II–VI compounds.
