Structural transformations in plastically deformed cobalt

Abstract: The results of X-ray diffraction studies of plastically deformed cobalt have been presented. It has been found that plastic deformation prevents the transition of the high-temperature fcc phase to the low-temperature hcp phase. It has been shown that this is related to the formation of a fine-crystalline structure upon plastic deformation.
