Abstract:
A model of nonadiabatic transitions initiated by elastic fields of stresses of moving dislocation in Fe$^{2+}$ ion pairs has been considered. The transitions are spin-forbidden in the absence of magnetic field. The forbidding is removed in magnetic field. Nonmonotonic dependence of dislocation mean free paths under action of a short (100 $\mu$s) magnetic field pulse on the pulse amplitude in NaCl : Fe crystals is explained in the framework of the model of nonadiabatic transitions in Fe$^{2+}$–Fe$^{2+}$ pairs.
