Flow simulation in rotor–stator systems with axisymmetric stator using edge-based schemes

Abstract:
Flow simulation in rotor–stator systems with axisymmetric stator can be implemented using a solidrotating mesh. After triangulation stator surface loses axial symmetry and perturbs the gas during rotation. In the framework of edge-based schemes we offer a correction of the numerical flux that recovers the axisymmetric shape of the body and thereby prevents spurious perturbations.
