Effect of adsorption from external environment
on the interaction force in probe & sample in atomic force microscope

Abstract:
The paper presents an analytical calculation of the interaction tip-surface forces in atomic force microscope based on the adsorption of the external environment. For calculations Gibbs equation and various known isotherms of monolayer adsorption were used. The results can make a physically reasonable theoretical basis of the experimental method of adsorption studies by measuring the external environment interaction forces between the probe and the sample surface at an atomic force microscope.
