NONLINEAR DYNAMICS
Electromagnetoacoustic transparency of a paramagnetic crystal
A. V. Gulakov, S. V. Sazonov Kaliningrad State University
Abstract:
The possibility of synchronously controlling the hypersound and light propagation in a low-temperature paramagnet under the action of a high-power resonance optical pumping is studied theoretically. The effect combines the properties of electromagnetic and acoustic induced transparencies. It is shown that, for certain values of control parameters (external electric field strength and pumping intensity), the paramagnet may become transparent simultaneously to light and sound. The group velocities of sound and light may become comparable in magnitude.
