Modification of the energy functional for nuclei near the nucleon stability boundary

Abstract:
The effective energy functional for nuclei near the nucleon stability boundary is modified by taking into account that the functional parameters corresponding to interaction in the surface region depend on the neutron and proton chemical potentials $\mu_n$ and $\mu_p$, respectively, in a nucleus. By the example of several long isotope chains, it is shown that the $\mu$ dependence of the effective interaction results in shifting the neutron stability boundary toward large $N-Z$ values.
