Abstract:
An experimental scheme for the preparation and measurement of correlated pairs of photons, i.e., polarization qutrits, was previously proposed. The resistance of quantum key distribution on polarization qubits has been analyzed in this work. The joint use of unmixed and mixed bases allows a significant increase in the critical error as compared to other protocols.
