Model of the electrical breakdown channel in ionic crystals

Abstract:
A model is proposed for the propagation of the breakdown channel in a NaCl single crystal taking into account the mechanism of charge carrier generation via cascade Auger transitions. The formation of the gas phase of the breakdown channel based on the heat release during nonradiative recombination of electrons and holes is considered.
