Abstract: The new direction of investigations, modeling of cognitive evolution that is evolution of animal cognitive abilities is proposed. Modeling of cognitive evolution is related with foundation of science, foundation of mathematics. The direction of research “Adaptive behavior” that includes the background of investigations of cognitive evolution is characterized. Models of adaptive behavior of autonomous agents that have cognitive abilities are described. The sketch program of future investigations of cognitive evolution is proposed.
