Abstract: Various amino acid-based furfurylamine derivatives were synthesized by two-stage procedure, which includes the condensation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (or furfural) with amino acid salts in methanol followed by hydrogenation of obtained imines in a flow reactor over CuAlOx catalyst.
Keywords: reductive amination, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, furfural, CuAlOx catalyst, amino acid salts, imines, hydrogenation, flow reactor.
