Abstract:
Multifunctional biocomposite material BCM-I has been developed for detection, collection and reclamation of hydrocarbon contaminants from the surface of water areas. The material is composed of a nonwoven polymer with the incorporated plant-derived structures and the immobilized associations of hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria. Indicator properties of BCM-I are ensured by formation on its surface of zones from threads impregnated with hydrocarbonsoluble indicator dyes.
