Abstract: The first example of palladium-catalyzed Buchwald–Hartwig amination of 3,3'-dibromo-1,1'-bi(2-naphthol) is reported. Linear and macrocyclic derivatives of N,N'-disubstituted 3,3'-diamino-1,1'-bi(2-naphthols) thus obtained are able to detect metal cations when using UV and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Keywords: amination, palladium, catalysis, 1,1'-bi(2-naphthol), macrocycle, fluorescence, metal cations, detection.
