Everything old is new again: a reinspection of solid-state method for the fabrication of high quality calcium hydroxyapatite bioceramics

A. Ezerskyte-Miseviciene, A. Kareiva

Institute of Chemistry, Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania
Abstract: The simple, fast and cost-efficient solid-state synthesis was developed for the preparation of calcium hydroxyapatite bioceramics. The obtained materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The samples prepared in the temperature range of 800–1000°C were almost single-phase (i.e., only minor impurities were observed) high-crystalline calcium hydroxyapatites.
