Abstract: β-Diketones and β-oxo esters are thiocyanated with the NaSCN/(NH₄)₂ Ce(NO₃)₆ system or with pre-generated dirhodanogen. Malonates undergo thiocyanation only with the NaSCN/(NH₄)₂ Ce(NO₃)₆ system.
