Abstract:
3-Amino- and 3-(dimethyl)amino-1-methylnitrilimines were obtained by the photolysis (l = 254nm) of the corresponding 5-amino- and 5-(dimethyl)amino-2-methyltetrazoles in an argon matrix at 10K or in a gas phase at room temperature. They were characterized by IR spectroscopy and were found to be the primary products of the transformation; the prolonged UV irradiation of the matrix (l = 254nm) caused isomerization of the nitrilimines into diazirines.
