L. B. Boinovich, A. M. Emelyanenko

A.N. Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russian Federation
Abstract: The advantages of superhydrophobic coatings as a new method for protection against atmospheric icing are considered. The basic physicochemical mechanisms determining the anti-icing performance of superhydrophobic surfaces and the problems of decreasing the efficiency of superhydrophobic materials are analyzed.
