A.V. Bogatsky Physico-Chemical Institute, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Odessa, Ukraine
Abstract: Heating of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene bearing acethydrazide moiety at the lower rim in MeCN or PriOH (EtOH) affords the corresponding N,N’-bis(calix[4]arenoxyacetyl)hydrazine derivative. The hydrazinolysis of mono(methoxycarbonylmethoxy)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]-arene in benzene or refluxing biscalixarene hydrazide in benzene in the presence of hydrazine hydrate produces the mixture of 1,2- and 1,3-(N,N’-diacetylhydrazine)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes.
