Abstract: The spatial development of spontaneous ignition in propane–air and n-pentane–air mixtures depends on the state of the reactor surface, namely, an ignition initial centre originates at the reactor surface, and then the flame front propagates from the centre into the bulk with a normal velocity corresponding to the reactor walls temperature and gas mixture composition.
