Abstract: The catalytic effect of new amphiphilic pyrimidinic compounds with two ammonium head groups and different kinds of counterions, inorganic bromide anions and hydrophobic tosylate anions, was studied and compared with that of conventional cetyltrimethylammonium surfactants with bromide and tosylate counterions.
