Abstract: cis-1,1-Dichloro-2,3-diphenylcyclopropane reacts with NOCl·2SO3 to provide new heterocyclic compounds, N-oxide of 3,3-dichloro-2,4-diphenylazetine and 4,4-dichloro-3,5-diphenylisoxazoline, with 45 and 30% yields, respectively. The structure of the products was unambiguously stated by X-ray crystallography.
Keywords: cyclopropane, nitrosation, azetine N-oxide, isoxazoline, X-ray crystallography.
