Abstract: A direct selective synthesis of clamshell-type binuclear phthalocyanines via structural modification of monohydroxyphthalocyanines in up to 95% yield has been developed. Previously unknown clamshell-type Lu complex has been obtained. The spectral properties of the resulting binuclear phthalocyanines have been studied.
