Abstract: The magnetic characteristics of a liquid crystalline nitroxide radical 2,5-dimethyl-2-pentadecyloxyphenyl-5-[4-(4-pentadecyloxybenzenecarbonyloxy) phenyl]pyrrolidine-1-oxide in solution and in solids were studied by EPR spectroscopy; the EPR spectra of the radical were found to be highly sensitive to orientation and structural changes of the matrix.
