Abstract: On the basis of X-ray diffraction data and quantum-chemical calculations the role of medium polarity and intramolecular interactions (including N···π and NO2···π) in the stabilization of the conformers of N-(5,7-dinitro-8-quinolinyl)-N-(4-nitrophenyl)-amine has been demonstrated.
