Abstract: The magnetic properties of a MnII dimer L2Mn2(μ-OOCCMe3)4 (L = 2,6-diaminopyridine) can be correctly described with allowance for isotropic bilinear (−2J1 = 16.5 cm−1) and biquadratic (−2J2 = 0.49 cm−1) exchange, the latter crucially influencing the magnetic susceptibility in the whole temperature range.
