Abstract: The interaction of MoCl5 with NaOMe in methanol led to the formation of a new neutral binuclear molybdenum(V) alkoxo complex with Cl ligands, trans-[Cl(OMe)3Mo(μ-OMe)2Mo(OMe)3Cl]; the complex was characterised by X-ray analysis, IR spectroscopy and DFT quantum-chemical calculations.
