Abstract: The interaction of MoCl₅ with NaOMe in methanol led to the formation of a new neutral binuclear molybdenum(V) alkoxo complex with Cl ligands, trans-[Cl(OMe)₃Mo(μ-OMe)₂Mo(OMe)₃Cl]; the complex was characterised by X-ray analysis, IR spectroscopy and DFT quantum-chemical calculations.
