Abstract: Crystal structure determination for C₇₀(CF₃)₈·PhMe revealed that the eight CF₃ groups in the C₇₀(CF₃)₈ molecule are situated in a para(7) string around the equator of the C₇₀ cage; the molecule of C₇₀(CF₃)₈ is isostructural with the known methylated and phenylated derivatives of C₇₀, C₇₀Me₈ and C₇₀Ph₈.
