Abstract:
For 1-methoxymethylaziridine 1 it is proved experimentally (GED) and theoretically that the equilibrium conformers are stabilized by the anomeric effects n(N) → σ*(C–O) and n(O) → σ*(C–N), whereas in the case of methoxymethyldimethylamine 2 the calculations predict the existence of a conformer appropriate to the n(N) → σ*(C–O) effect.
