Abstract: Chloro(octaphenyltetraazaporphyrinato)iron(III) [(Cl)FeIIIOPTAP] reacts with aryl Grignard reagents (ArMgBr; Ar phenyl or p-tolyl) forming stable low-spin σ-aryliron(III) complexes [(Ar)FeIIIOPTAP].
