Abstract: A number of new substituted tetrathiafulvalenes that can be useful in constructing molecular films by Langmuir–Blodgett technology have been synthesised by successive chemical transformations of 3-oxo-2,5,7,9-tetrathiabicyclo[4.3.0]non-1(6)-ene- 8-thione.
